Partner Lew Tesser to Present Report on Innocent People Pleading Guilty
We previously reported that TRR Partner Lew Tesser had been tapped by the New York County Lawyers’ Association (“NYCLA”) to chair a task force to develop strategies to solve the problem of innocent people pleading guilty. Read more about the Task Force here.
After a year of study, discussion and analysis, the Task Force is ready to present its report, and to discuss an action plan for confronting this problem at this informative and compelling program. On December 2, Tesser, along with other Task Force leaders, will present these findings at a forum at NYCLA headquarters.
In addition, Rodney Roberts will deliver a keynote address, sharing his incredible story about why he plead guilty to a crime he did not commit, and how he was later exonerated with the help of the Innocence Project. Read more about Rodney’s story here.
The event is free to all the public, and NYCLA is offering 2 CLE credits for all attorney’s who attend. For those who would like to get CLE credit, it is $25 for members and $45 dollars for non-members. So bring your colleagues, friends, and family!
The forum will take place on December 2, 2019 at 6:00 PM. It will be located at the New York County Lawyers’ Association.
